Lawn Care Route Specialist

Job Title: Lawn Care Route Specialist

Position Summary

($56,000-$75,000/YEAR DOE)

The Lawn Care Route Specialist is responsible for building, managing, and optimizing daily lawn application routes to ensure maximum production, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

This is not a passive office role. This position directly impacts revenue, technician performance, routing efficiency, and customer retention. The Route Specialist ensures applicators are set up to win every day in the field.

This is a performance-driven position requiring organization, urgency, and accountability.

Primary Responsibilities

Routing & Production

  • Build, adjust, and optimize daily lawn care routes using RealGreen software.
  • Maximize route density and minimize windshield time.
  • Monitor daily production numbers and route efficiency.
  • Make real-time route adjustments due to weather, breakdowns, or staffing changes.
  • Ensure routes are balanced and achievable.

Revenue & Upselling

  • Identify upsell opportunities during scheduling and customer interactions.
  • Assist in adding services such as aeration, overseeding, tree care, or pest control.
  • Help drive program renewals and customer retention.
  • Communicate promotions and seasonal service opportunities.

Customer Service & Issue Resolution

  • Handle inbound customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Resolve billing questions, service complaints, and scheduling issues.
  • Coordinate service callbacks when necessary.
  • Protect company reputation through strong communication.

Technician Support

  • Ensure applicators have accurate route notes and property details.
  • Communicate daily expectations clearly to field staff.
  • Serve as the operational link between office and field.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to think fast and solve problems under pressure
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • Basic understanding of lawn care services preferred
  • Experience using RealGreen or similar routing software preferred
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic and performance mindset
